Schneider Electric Strategy Director in Hong Kong

As Strategy Director of one of the key Schneider Electric business units (BUs) with >5B USD annual revenue, you willlead or participate in various strategic BU, cross-BU, or Group Level projects; support the BU global transformation programs and important corporate development activities (e.g. M&A;, JV, partnership) You will also lead our continuous research on the New Energy Landscape driven by the 3D + E equation: Decentralization, Decarbonization & Digitization + Electrification.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not be limited to:

  • Drive the BU Corporate Strategy developments & Strategic Cycles:

  • Be responsible for the end to end management and development of BU Corporate Strategy

  • Work and collaborate with key stakeholders inside and outside of BU organization to identify strategic growth or transformation opportunities

  • Facilitate BU management in execution of various strategic initiatives

  • Lead & plan BU Strategic Cycles as well as its continuous refinements (e.g. strategy days, strategic deep dives, and key BU relevant investor events)

  • Support BU strategic planning and reporting process

  • Drive the overall delivery of (or participate to lead on certain stream) of key strategic projects for future markets understandings or important business topics at e.g. customer segment, business line / portfolio, strategic marketing, or go-to-market / value chain dimensions

  • Support the continuous development of BU transformation program, including:

  • Transformation strategy refinement and deep dives of key transformation areas

  • Facilitate the active monitoring and reporting of the program progress

  • Identify program risks and lead risk migration initiatives

  • Participate in various BU Strategic Intelligence activities to reflect the solid customer, market, and competition trends in the above missions

  • Support BU’s corporate development activities e.g. M&A; and partnership to understand the (new) market landscape, target pool and profiles and, in the end, facilitate BU management’s decision-making on the strategic intent, fit, and attractiveness of possible activities and build business plans
  • Develop executive-level presentation and communication in a high professional standard for BU leaders for internal and external events and activities

Bachelor or above degree in the relevant engineering principles; MBA from a globally renowned school will be highly desired

  • Intensive experience gained in Corporate strategy, strategic marketing roles ideally from a leading corporate in the relevant industries combined with sound strategy consulting experiences from a top-tier management consulting firm (& exposures for industrial relevant clients / topics)

  • Corporate M&A;, due diligence, & negotiation experiences supported by relevant financial analysis skills

  • Good Knowledge of electrical distribution relevant global markets & competitors (drivers, dynamics, …)

  • Good Knowledge on the global new energy landscape developments and opportunities
  • Understandings of Marco Economic analysis and impacts to our End Markets (utilities, O&G;, MMM etc.)
  • Experience working in the context of a large, complex, global organization where working across boundaries and leading through influence are keys to succeed in this role

  • Demonstrated exceptional expertise in hypotheses and strategy formulation, conducting primary and secondary research, driving executive interviews, industry sector research report compilation and writing, and PowerPoint-based presentation

  • Result-oriented, high energy, hands-on talent who will function well in a highly-productive result-oriented team

  • Proficient in English, working proficiency of an European language (e.g. French) will be a plus
