Working with the Retail Buyers, the Retail Buying Director is responsible for:

  • Identifying market-specific seasonal opportunities and priorities based on consumer and industry trends across product categories

  • Providing retail price goals based on consumer insights

  • Reviewing and validating the category and subcategory strategy, and top seasonal initiatives with management to give a complete APAC view

  • Reviewing and validating the buy plans with leadership and country management, ensuring they are within the financial budget, and address consumer needs

  • Reviewing and validating the seasonal launch plans

  • Supporting the development of the conceptual assortment plans by determining key product attributes, reviewing bulk quantities and conducting the Pre-buy meetings

  • Collaborating with the Product teams to ensure the product line meets retail needs

  • Participating actively in the Go-To-Market process

  • Providing wholesale/distribution teams with retail information on the seasonal retail buy

  • Developing the Retail Buying team’s capabilities, analytical skills and business knowledge through coaching and on the job monitoring/training.

Partner with Retail Analyst Team in:

  • Managing in-season process and markdowns/promotions recommendation

  • Driving business objectives, metrics and maximize sales and inventory management

  • Analyzing weekly sales achievement and support the analyst in strategy development to improve business result

The position of Retail Buying Director will partner with the Retail Planning by:

  • Overseeing the development and execution of category, market, in-store and campaign strategies based on analytics and market intelligence.

  • Supporting the development of the merchandise financial plans, executive strategy and seasonal retail targets

  • Supporting the in-season management/open-to-buy process

Ensuring the Retail Buyers, Retail Planners and Analysts are collaborating as needed throughout the creation and execution of the various strategies and plans.

The Retail Buying Director will also:

  • Working with Visual Merchandising for space planning

  • Conducting store visits and competitive analysis to maintain expert knowledge of the industry and market

  • Ensuring the team is communicating with other business functions in an efficient and effective way.

  • Providing the retail point of view to support marketing activities

  • Travelling across Asia Pacific and internationally as required
