The O&T Risk and Control (OTRC) function proactively supports O&T in managing and mitigating operational risks, executing risk and control responsibilities for O&T franchise as a First Line of Defense function and oversees enterprise-wide risk and control functions. The OTRC Team has the responsibility to establish a robust framework that enables effective risk and control management by the O&T functions, to work with the O&T units and function owners on risk and control matters, to provide objective views on risks, controls, and trends, to advise and guide the business and function owners on risks and controls. Accountability for robust and compliant processes and controls and their effective execution rests with the respective O&T units and function owners.

Major Job Responsibilities:

Manager’s Control Assessment:

  • Support the coordination of Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) process for the Country entity in line with the established Roles and Responsibilities (R&R)

  • Oversee and manage the quarterly Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) across Country and O&T entity units

  • Facilitate and complete the Annual Risk Assessment (ARA) process for Country entity and O&T units

  • Monitor completion and results, summarize overall results and present concise reports to Senior Management

  • Follow up on MCA Effectiveness Heatmap and Data Quality Defects with respective MCA entity unit before closure on quarterly assessment

Issue & CAP Management:

  • Monitor and keep track on status for Issues and CAP under O&T. Ensure timely completion and closure before due date

  • Follow-up and escalate to Senior Management on CAPs that are at risk of being re-targeted

  • Facilitate, review and support the development of the actions plans to ensure that the CAPs are appropriate and adequately address the issues and risks

Operational Loss Event:

  • Perform operational loss capturing: prepare regular reporting to internal departments including Compliance, Operational Risk Management (ORM), Finance and Risk Operations (FRO)

  • Review the Profit & Loss Memo to ensure the data quality and appropriate level of approval is in place

  • Root cause analysis on Operational Loss incident and Near Miss event

Record Management:

  • Assist Country Record Management Program Lead for coordination and carrying out initiatives on Record Management (RM) program

  • Responsible for the implementation of Record Management Policy and to ensure Record Management Units are complying according to the standards

  • Assist to oversee the inventory management to ensure adherence to the applicable retention schedule, facilitate annual reconciliation of inventory with Record Management Units

Balance Sheet Control Oversight:

  • Account owner for Nostro, internal accounts and general ledgers under O&T; monitor and identify any red flag and issues for escalation

  • Ensure the reconciliation performed by Global Reconciliation Utility (GRU) meets the bank standards and adhere to established procedures for compliance and efficiency

  • Facilitate and work with stakeholders to resolve aged items


  • University graduate with at least 10 years of banking experience

  • Minimum 3 years in Risk or Control area

  • Strong analytical mindset and risk based thinking.

  • Up-to-date understanding of key risk and control concepts, tools and trends relating to risk identification

  • Ability to handle multi-task and manage concurrent projects and deliverable

  • Excellent team player and able to interact with key stakeholders and partners within and outside the country

  • Good communication in both oral and written English

  • Excellent presentation skill includes preparation of material and present to senior management and to facilitate discussion
