Description

As the Head of GCT North Asia Technology, the role is responsible for the consumer strategic initiatives and technology governance in Hong Kong, Taiwan Korea and China. Three of the four markets are in the top six revenue contributing countries in Asia EMEA. As the four markets are huge and have different maturity level which means the focus and strategy would be different. Need to develop roadmap and strategy plan by leveraging on global and regional platform and align to business strategy.

Responsibilities Includes:

  • Partnering with regional senior tech leaders and local business leaders to form strategic alliance

  • Understanding the local market context, and knowledgeable of regional solution who can make effective/innovative recommendations to business

  • Sourcing technological innovation to solve business problems or enhance client experience, by leveraging regional/global capabilities or source from local vendors

  • Governing regulatory requirements, risk & control issues, production services. Constant engagement with local regulator to provide advice in Fintech and innovation initiatives

  • Monitoring technology budget and financial charge back

  • Developing talent and capabilities to create new values to the business, be forward compatible

  • Understanding culture differences in leading four different country teams and provide value added services to business and O&T leaders

  • Supporting and provide consultative services to CBM and O&T head in strategic direction or critical decision

  • Attending GCT CIO staff meeting, GCT Asia governance meeting, Country O&T management meeting

  • Ensure alignment of technology roadmap to business strategy

  • Working with global and regional architect, CATE, CTO, solution team to ensure alignment of country solution to global standard and roadmap

Qualifications

Tech savvy thought leader with extensive experiences and skills in managing and supporting large complex banking platform consist of mainframe, distributed and NEXTGEN platform. In depth knowledge in large project management with agile SDLC. Good knowledge and know-how of banking platform running on SYSPLEX and CICSPLEX 24x7 real time and batch processing platform. Good understanding of consumer bank business and local market practice.

  • In depth understanding of banking industry in the three markets, good knowledge on consumer banking platform, process and regulation

  • Understanding of local legal regulation and market practice

  • 10+ years of progressive senior technology leadership experience in the financial industry or a related field with a strong understanding/focus on Consumer Banking

  • Experience leading large-scale transformation Programs at multinational financial institutions, driving Governance and Delivery Excellence processes

  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
