Asia Debt Syndicate, part of Capital Markets Origination (CMO), is seeking candidates for an Associate position based in Hong Kong.

Debt Syndicate provides bond pricing and distribution services to issuing clients, while working closely with Debt Capital Markets and Corporate Banking colleagues. Our core issuer group comprises institutional clients across Asia-Pac, including China, Korea, Japan and Australia, among others. We also support transactions originated in Europe and US. Debt Syndicate requires constant communication with multiple parties, both internally and externally.

This includes coverage bankers, salespersons, traders, and other syndicate desks within the bank and at other banks. Although the debt syndicate team provides execution for issuers across a broad geographic universe, this particular role requires a good familiarity with the Chinese insurer and investor base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing markets and understanding global news

  • Assisting in the construction of recommendations for clients

  • Preparation of materials for conducting market update calls with issuers

  • Preparing and handling investor roadshows

  • Providing pricing indications to partners and clients

  • Meeting investors and issuers in person

  • Bookbuilding, allocating and pricing transactions



  • Familiarity with credit analysis/credit ratings/high yield bond covenants

  • Knowledge of bond execution processes, documentation, bond math

  • 3-5 years of Debt Capital Markets experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English

  • Confident personality – ability to form and express personal views

  • Comfortable dealing with multiple parties, both internally and externally

  • Genuine interest in world news and market activity
