JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Digital Marketing and Social Media – Asia Pacific (APAC) is responsible for leading the strategic development, execution and optimization of Marriott’s digital marketing efforts for priority source markets within APAC. The position will deliver a holistic media strategy across brand marketing, loyalty, destinations, food & beverage marketing etc in APAC on key digital and social media channels.

The position will accomplish these objectives by successfully partnering with discipline leads within Marriott Headquarters to build the Digital Media Center of Excellence (COE), while bringing unique regional needs to the forefront. The position will be expected to deliver customized, effective, and audience-centric digital marketing programs that drive engagement and traffic our direct digital channels.

In addition, the Director will monitor Marriott’s competitive position within regional industry players and identify ways to improve Marriott’s performance and strategic position. The Director, Digital Marketing and Social Media will report to Senior Director, Digital, Asia Pacific. And he/she will have direct responsibility for managing the global media agency of record.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Minimum 8 - 10 years of relevant work experience as a digital marketing professional for multinational corporations or B2C brands ideally in Internet sales/ eCommerce/ online marketing in positions that have directly impacted increased online revenues.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of online measurement, tracking methods, and analysis.

  • Languages: Proficiency in English required; proficiency in reading and writing in Chinese or other Asian languages strongly preferred.

  • Experience managing and directing strategic partners / agencies /vendors. Demonstrated relationship marketing skills a must.

  • Agency work experience strongly preferred; primarily in a client services/account services role.

  • Five or more years of managerial experience, supervising and mentoring staff; international work experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience establishing and managing budgets.

  • Proven ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams in support of specific business priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to take complex projects and efforts from conception to successful execution.

  • Ability to solve problems quickly, think creatively, and satisfy Internet speed-to-market requirements.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.

  • Experience working with associates/ vendors/ customers in remote locations and international markets (multiple time zones).

  • Act as Media Center of Excellence (COE) for centralized digital media buying, management and measurement

  • Build out an audience-led planning approach for campaign execution and optimization

  • Lead key publisher and agency partner relationships, strategy planning and management

  • Lead a team to manage paid media campaign management and planning across marketing departments

  • Plan and execute digital and social media activations and strategy for key brand and loyalty campaigns and events to drive customer engagement
