Job Description

The Acquisition Head, SMB (Small & Medium Businesses) is the key driver in the team to deliver the success of PayPal Hong Kong, responsible for developing and executing our overall acquisition strategy. This includes telesales and channel partners that support PayPal’s cross-border trade and domestic businesses to ensure financial targets, new activities and strategic initiatives of Paypal Hong Kong are delivered and exceeded.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute SMB (Small & Medium Businesses) Acquisition strategy to acquire, retain, penetrate merchants in targeted verticals

  • Develop, expand and manage channel partners to drive growth of new activities and revenue targets

  • Work with Marketing, Global Ops, Products Team to create an efficient generation of leads, and product cross-sell plans to increase merchant activities, deliver revenue targets and drive products penetration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Global Ops and Integration to onboard merchants in an efficient and seamless manner

  • Leading the team to work with Compliance, MRO and Global Ops to provide and communicate resolutions to merchants

  • Analyse market trends both external & internal stakeholders for actionable insights

  • Manage weekly/monthly sales targets against budgets accurately and efficiently

  • Demonstrate best-in-class Sales and Partner Management skills, as well as leadership traits to coach and guide the team

KEY STAKEHOLDERS / RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to: Director, SMB (Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan markets)

  • Work location: Hong Kong

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years’ of experience in Business Development and Sales is required

  • Experience in Small & Medium Businesses, and Merchant Acquisition are preferred

  • Experience in e-Commerce / International trade / Telecommunication / IT industry / Financial Services / Payments industry is a plus

  • Proved performance in leads development/generation, and successful expansion program over channel partners are required

  • Experience in leading and managing teams of 5-10 is required

  • Solid Business Development track record in a highly matrix organization and fast-paced industry

SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES:

  • Leadership, people management experience and ability to influence at all levels, working effectively across functions and geographies

  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Results oriented, keen and fast learner

  • Interest in analysing SMB products, merchants and market dynamics as well as strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products to customers

  • Creative problem solver always seeking business excellence

  • Experience in managing direct sales (online and offline) and third-party channels

  • Tech savvy with great interests of exploiting new technologies and solutions

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (in Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese and English) and strong organizational skills

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor is required, MBA is plus
