Merchandise Manager, Performance Fabric

Merchandising Manager will report to the Material Management lead and will be responsible for executing the fabric and mill strategy for the assigned region / area / category. The role will be responsible for managing the development and innovation agenda for the function in assigned area. The role will be accountable for managing the initial costing and Mill Partnerships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages strategic fabric development for their area of business

  • Coordinate and facilitate mill week

  • Manage reporting of preferred mills and vertical vendors

  • Support fabric pricing guidelines for lineplan

  • Approves final costing closure of Strategic fabrics

  • Establish Fabric development KPIs and brand discipline on # seas dvlpts

  • Ensure participation in fashion shows / fabric fairs

  • Collaborates with vendor management to align vendor and mill strategies

  • Partner with Vendor Management, QA and technical teams to resolve fabric or quality issues

  • Responsible for managing the costing of Seasonal fabrics

  • Support the category fabric platforming opportunities

  • Works with vertical vendors in their location to ensure proper systems documentation of RDs and prices

  • Accountable for maintaining fabric library in their location

  • Ensure vendors empowered to approve development, labdips of their area of responsibility

  • Manage fabric counter process

  • Negotiate fabric costing

  • Support for mill visit.

  • Manage and own risk assessment communication with cross functional teams


  • Bachelor's degree in textile

  • Additional Degree / Diploma in merchandising, business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline preferred

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in fabric sourcing with at least 2 years in leading a team

  • Experience in working with regional Mills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross functional leaders and peers to achieve business results

  • Ability to effectively manage and plan resources to achieve goals and support unplanned work

  • Demonstrated ability to deal head-on with issues and challenging situations

  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills

  • Ability to travel as required

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
