Background:

The Citi Equities Technology Production Management team are responsible for supporting the applications and processes used by global Equity Trading business groups, and to facilitate the needs of the end-users with respect to those platforms.

CITI is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of ‘Application Support Group Manager‘, within our global support team located in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Citi’s suite of Equities applications.

The role offers direct exposure to Cash Equities, Exchange Traded Options, OTCs, SWAPS, Custom Baskets, ETFs, Exotics, Structured Products and Fixed Income products. The role is located on the HK dealing floor, facing off to the Desk heads and traders.

The successful candidate will also be expected to work with our development and technical support teams to implement efficiencies such as automation of manual activities and reduce operational risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects on the Equities Trading production platform in the APAC Region

  • Direct management of approximately 50 full time staff in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Japan, Shanghai, Korea, India, and Indonesia

  • Vendor relationship management including oversight for all offshore managed service

  • Improve the service level the team provided to our end users, which included maximizing operational efficiencies, strengthening incident management, problem management and knowledge sharing practices

  • Guided development teams on application stability and supportability improvements

  • Work closely with infrastructure teams on improving the reliability and availability of the trading environment

  • Formulate and implement a framework for managing capacity, throughput and latency

  • Define and implemented application on-boarding guidelines and standards

  • Work with various team members on coaching them on how to maximize their potential, work better in a highly

  • integrated team environment and focus on bringing out their strengths

Required Skills / Background:

  • Background of hands-on front office application support

  • Background in supporting derivative securities

  • Background of technical skills such as UNIX, SQL or scripting

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work under extreme pressure

Qualifications

Essential Skills

Application Support Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience working in a Equities front-office support environment

  • Hands on experience of Equities Products

  • Understanding of problem management methodologies

  • Knowledge / Experience of problem management tools

  • Experience using call / ticketing software

Linux:

  • 5 years plus experience

SQL:

  • 5 years’ plus experience

Programming Languages:

  • Perl / scripting language and / or Java

Personal:

  • Ability to communicate well at all levels

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Self-motivating

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with little supervision

Additional Skills (preferable)

Microsoft:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems

  • Experience using / troubleshooting Office with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint

PC:

  • Basic understanding of hardware setup and configuration

Business Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Equities trading business
