Arup East Asia Knowledge Manager in NA, Hong Kong

Currently we are looking for a capable and independent individual for the following position as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

People

• Actively engage and support business units in knowledge harvesting & sharing, and raise awareness of Knowledge Management in Arup

• Share experience across communities of practice and business units, on innovative approaches in knowledge harvesting and sharing, including preparation of case studies

• Establish a strong relationship with users and stakeholders to identify further Knowledge Management initiatives, and reflect their knowledge system requirements from business units to IT team

Process

• Support business development through Knowledge Management; plan, develop and implement Annual Regional Knowledge Management Plan to align with business needs

• Monitor and evaluate the knowledge harvesting and sharing program, including external benchmarking and evaluation programs/opportunities

• Arrange initiatives/events to disseminate knowledge to internal and external audience

Technology

• Consult with the project teams on the needs on a better knowledge platform and define improvement measures with IT team

• Ensure all required technologies and platforms are in place to facilitate project teams to capture and present the lessons learnt

• Support the use of Arup Knowledge Management tools and platforms, including intranet, SharePoint, video portal etc, and further embed knowledge harvesting and sharing into business processes

Qualifications & Experience required:

• Degree in Management, preferably in Knowledge Management or Information Management

• At least 7 years of working experience, preferably in an international organisation, ideally within construction/engineering industry

• Experience in using various knowledge harvesting tools, such as After Action Review, Knowledge Cafe, Storytelling, etc, to harvest and codify tacit knowledge

• Experience in writing technical articles and using SharePoint

• Good communications, presentation and people skills; understand people's needs and concerns

• Good facilitation skills; ability to lead the knowledge harvesting & dissemination activities

• Ability to work within and across teams and with all levels of staff in the organisation

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including effective writing of project documentation. Good command of Putonghua
