IBM Trade Compliance Advisor in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

This role is responsible for executing and/or controlling processes that support IBM's import/export supply chain and compliance posture. It is responsible for developing, designing, implementing and managing comprehensive import/export compliance programs that facilitate IBM's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. It provides advice and counsel to local internal customers, assists with designing and implementing compliant logistics solutions/systems and monitors/tests controls effectiveness. This role responds to changing regulations and business models, and interfaces with controlling government agencies and corporate compliance office/legal personnel and logistics service providersEnsure IBM's compliance with local and international import and export regulations.Monitor and implement upcoming changes in trade compliance and supply chain security regulations; work with Legal, Governmental Programs and Import Compliance Office;represent IBM's interest in industry associations and regulatory bodies.Develop and execute internal control procedures to monitor the performance of IBM owned and service provider (carriers, brokers etc.) owned processesAddress performance issues within the given global management system, resolve issues both on a case-by-case basis (supporting brokers) as well as pervasive issues.Work with other Global Logistics process owners to support logistics projects (requirement and process definition; implementation of trade compliance control programs, duty minimization etc.)Design and Execute Business Controls activities such as compliance testing, Key Controls reporting, self-assessments, peer reviews; support to internal audits and customs audits and requests for informationContract/Supplier management and support to Global Logistics Procurement activitiesUser representation in IT projectsDrive simplification and harmonizationInterface to local internal customers (Fulfillment, Finance, Tax etc), suppliers and government agenciesSome travel required
